Bio

Meaghan Jette Martin stars as the beautiful yet bossy Tess Tyler, queen bee of the hottest clique in camp, in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Camp Rock." Vying and competing for the attention of pop star Shane Gray, Tess grows frustrated when she sees a special bond forming between him and her underling, Mitchie Torres. While it appears Tess has the perfect life, she longs for the attention of her mother, a famous recording artist who spends more time on the road than with her daughter.
Martin's credits include guest roles in Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," Nickelodeon's "Just Jordan" and CBS's "Close to Home." She was also featured in a variety of national and international commercials such as Barbie and Cabbage Patch Dolls.
A fan of musical theater, she performed in several community theater productions in Las Vegas. Martin made her professional theater debut in the Los Angeles production of the Jason Robert Brown musical "13" at the Ahmanson Theatre.

At a very early age, Martin began performing for family members, using the hearth of her grandmother's fireplace as her stage and a wooden spoon as her microphone. She began modeling at the age of five including Disney licensed apparel at the M.A.G.I.C. Convention in Las Vegas.
